Sunday's conference championship marks the first for the sport of rowing in the Southeastern Conference
On Aug. 23, 2024, the league announced the sponsorship of rowing - its 22nd conference sport and 13th women's sport
Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas are currently the lone SEC universities that sponsor rowing, with all four teams set to compete Sunday
The Crimson Tide competed as an affiliate member of the Big 12 from 2014-24
- Prior to joining the Big 12, UA competed in Conference USA

The inaugural SEC Rowing Championship will feature six race pieces, ranging from the First Varsity 8+ to the Third Varsity 4+ boats
- Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas will each have pre-assigned lanes throughout the regatta
- The Tide will be in Lane 2 for the 3V4+ and 2V8+ races and Lane 3 for the 3V8+, 2V4+, 1V4+ and 1V8+ races
The first piece will begin at 8:05 a.m. CT, with the next five races happening every 15 minutes
The schedule of racing is as follows:
- 8:05 a.m - 3V4+ crews
- 8:20 a.m. - 3V8+ crews
- 8:35 a.m. - 2V4+ crews
- 8:50 a.m. - 1V4+ crews
- 9:05 a.m. - 2V8+ crews
- 9:20 a.m. - 1V8+ crews

The 2025 SEC Rowing Championship will air live on SEC Network+, starting at 8 a.m. CT on Sunday, May 11
The conference championship will re-air on SEC Network in a condensed and packaged format at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 12
