COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 19 Alabama men's tennis team (8-2, 0-1 SEC) fell to South Carolina (7-3, 1-0 SEC), 4-1, in its Southeastern Conference opener in a Saturday-road match.
Filip Planinsek highlighted the Crimson Tide with a victory at the No. 1 spot in singles while the doubles tandem of Andrii Zimnokh and Damien Nezar boasted a doubles victory on court two.

- The Tide secured its first victory on doubles court two as Andrii Zimnokh and Damien Nezar downed Jelani Sarr and Atakan Karahan 6-3
- Filip Planinsek put the Tide on the board with a 6-1, 6-3 decision on court one
- The victory was the seventh consecutive singles win for the UA senior as he remains undefeated this season
- Damien Nezar was leading 5-4 in a third set when the overall match was clinched as Matic Kriznik was battling through an unfinished third set
