Planinsek and Kriznik highlighted the Tide’s performance with a win in both singles and doubles action
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Alabama men's tennis team (8-3, 0-2 SEC) fell in a 4-3 road match to Florida (7-4, 2-0 SEC) on Monday.
The Crimson Tide saw a pair of doubles wins from Filip Planinsek and Matic Kriznik on court one and Damien Nezar and Andrii Zimnokh on court two. Planinsek and Kriznik would also highlight singles action with wins on courts one and five, respectively.
From Head Coach George Husack
"Tough weekend with inconsistencies beginning in Columbia (South Carolina) and ending today in Gainesville (Florida). Andrii gave us a fighting chance today and I'm proud of how he welcomed the moment with maturity and poise. Our team will learn from his effort, and the coaches will prepare them for more weekends of tough competition.
"Our success is all based on our willingness to prepare at practice and ultimately execute in matches. If you choose to cut corners, you will pay the price and a few of us did on this trip. But for now, it's back to school, rest, recovery and get back to work as the season continues."
