A Pair of Silver Medals Highlights Day Three of SEC Championships for Alabama

The Crimson Tide saw the women’s 200 freestyle relay team and Cadence Vincent secure second-place finishes during the day’s events
ATHENS, Ga. – Alabama's Cadence Vincent paced the Crimson Tide swimming and diving team to a pair of silver medals on Wednesday, helping the women's 200 freestyle relay team to a second-place finish before also finishing second in the 50 freestyle.
As the leadoff swimmer, Vincent paced the 200 freestyle relay team of Jada Scott, Kailyn Winter and Charlotte Rosendale to a second-place time of 1:26.35, before securing her own silver medal later in the night in the 50 freestyle with a career-best 21.59.
Charlie Hawke highlighted the men's team, breaking his Alabama 500 freestyle record twice during the day's events to conclude the night with a time of 4:09.75 for fourth place.
The men's team finished day three in seventh place with a score of 225, while the women's team tallied 236 points for eighth place.

- The women's 200 freestyle relay team of Cadence Vincent, Jada Scott, Kailyn Winter and Charlotte Rosendale dropped nearly a second off their season-best time to secure the Tide's first medal of the week with their second-place finish
- Moments later, all four swimmers would return to competition for the 50 freestyle, highlighted by a second-place finish and career-best performance from Vincent
- Kailyn Winter would win the B final with a career-best 21.94, moving her to sixth all-time at UA, while Rosendale's prelim time of 22.10 ranked seventh all-time and Scott's prelim time of 22.21 ranked ninth
- The men's relay team of Kyle Micallef, Tim Korstanje, Drayden Bell and Toni Dragoja posted a time of 1:16.21, the sixth-fastest performance at the meet, as both the men's and women's relay teams cemented their spot at the NCAA Championships with A cuts
- Charlie Hawke bested his UA record performance in the 500 freestyle twice during the day as the senior dropped over a second off his season-best time and seven hundredths off of his school record mark in the preliminary race (4:10.95)
- He would cut another second off his time in the finals for a 4:09.75, placing him fourth overall
- Ryleigh Rodgers battled her way through the prelims to earn a spot in the consolation finals of the 3m dive with a score of 294.10
- The UA diver would climb from 16th place to 11th over the next six dives, recording a score of 288.10 in the B final
- Both Tim Korstanje and Toni Dragoja recorded career-best performances in prelims, as Korstanje's 19.34 ranks eighth in program history and Dragoja's 19.37 ranks 10th
- Stella Grace Watts dropped over three and a half seconds off her 500 free time during the prelims to move her to ninth all-time in program history with a 4:46.73

- The Crimson Tide returns to action Thursday to compete in the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle, in addition to the men's 1m dive
- Prelims are set to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT while diving prelims will start at 11 a.m.
