Alabama Sets Records on Day Two of SEC Championships

The Crimson Tide set two school records and broke a facility record during the day’s events
ATHENS, Ga. – The Alabama swimming and diving team captured a pair of school records and a facility record on the second day of the Southeastern Conference Championships.
The men's 800 freestyle relay team topped the prior UA standard by nearly three seconds in the event, while Charlie Hawke's leadoff time bettered his 200 freestyle time. Hawke's leadoff split would also set the Gabrielsen Natatorium record.
After the second day of competition, the Alabama men's team ranks sixth with a score of 118, while the women's team sits in 10th with a score of 86.

- Charlie Hawke set a school and facility record in the 200 freestyle as the 800 freestyle relay's leadoff swimmer
- With a time of 1:30.44, Hawke shattered his previous pool-record mark of 1:31.05, set during this year's Georgia Fall Invite, and bettered his UA record in the event by 11 tenths of a second
- Additionally, the men's 800 freestyle relay team of Hawke, Kaique Alves, Tommy Hagar and Toni Dragoja toppled the prior UA record by nearly four seconds, finishing with a time of 6:06.77 as the quartet also surpassed the prior pool-record time on their way to a fourth-place finish
- The women's 200 medley relay team of Emily Jones, Avery Wiseman, Jada Scott and Cadence Vincent dropped over seven tenths of a second for a fourth-place finish and a season-best time of 1:34.36
- Mackenzie Brandt, Vincent, Scott and Liberty Williams swam a time of 7:07.30 in the 800 freestyle relay, bettering their entry time by over three seconds
- The Crimson Tide advanced two divers into the consolation round of the men's 3m board, as Colten Cryer (337.85) and Nigel Chambers (305.70) finished 12th and 16th, respectively
