Alabama To Compete in Singles, Doubles Semifinals at ITA Fall Regional Championships

Matic Kriznik will compete in the regional semifinal for singles at 10 a.m. CT, while Jacob Olar and Andrii Zimnokh will play in the regional doubles semifinal at noon
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis team advanced a singles player and doubles pairing to the semifinals at the ITA Fall Regional Championships.
Matic Kriznik won in straight sets, downing Amirkamza Nasridinov from Auburn in a 6-4, 6-3 victory to earn his spot in the semifinals.
The doubles duo of Jacob Olar and Andrii Zimnokh battled through the round of 16 and quarterfinals to reach Monday's semifinal match. The UA team dropped just four games against LSU's Rudy Ceccon and Calin Stirbu to earn their spot in the top four. Olar and Zimnokh would mirror the result against Rapael Vaksmann and Roberto Ferrer Guimareaes from Mississippi State, defeating the Bulldogs with an 8-4 effort.
Kriznik will go head-to-head with Benito Sanchez Martinez from MSU at 10 a.m. CT, while Olar and Zimnikh will face Troy's Luciana Alcocer and Yeray Andres Pastor at noon.
