
Alabama Thrives on Day One of the ITA Fall Regional Championships

The Crimson Tide collected a total of four main draw singles wins and a doubles victory to advance to the Round of 32
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –Alabama men's tennis wrapped up the first day of main draws at the ITA Fall Regional Championships with four singles victories and a pair of doubles wins at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
Four Alabama singles players advanced off a straight set win as Andrii Zimnokh (6-2, 6-4), Jacob Olar (6-1, 6-4) and Matic Kriznik (6-1, 6-2) fought their way through the main draw on Friday afternoon. Carlos Gimenez Perez also battled through two sets, winning off a second-set tiebreaker for a 6-4, 7-6(3) decision.
Zimnokh and doubles partner Olar secured an 8-5 win, while Kriznik and Vit Kalina would advance on a bye.
First serve of day two of the week-long tournament is set for Saturday at 9 a.m. CT.
