Former Alabama Standout Nealy Martin Called Up to U.S. Women’s National Team Training Camp

Martin earned her first call up to the United States national team
CHICAGO –– Former Alabama standout Nealy Martin was named to the 2025 United States Women's National Training Camp, USWNT announced Tuesday.
The call up is the first for Martin, who is in the midst of an extraordinary professional career with Gotham FC.
National Women's Sports League Career Highlights
- Was signed by Gotham FC in December of 2022, helping the team win the NWSL Championships that season after finishing last the year before
- Despite competing as a midfielder and defender, closed out the 2023 NWSL Championship match in goal after Gotham's keeper was sent off
- Became the first field player to play in goal in a playoff game in NWSL history
- Has played in 40 games with Gotham over two seasons and is featured as a consistent starter
- Signed with Racing Louisville for its inaugural season (2021) after emerging from open tryouts
- Competed in two seasons with Racing where she appeared in 29 games and started 21
Alabama Career Highlights
- Played at Alabama from 2016-19
- Named the 2019 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and was selected as a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American that season
- Served as a dominant member on the backline
- Started 70 games, including every game during her junior and senior season
- Helped lead the Tide to three SEC Tournament appearances and advance to the 2017 NCAA Tournament
- Scored five goals, including two game-winning goals, and tallied four assists for 14 points
