
Davidson Places Eighth at the Boilermaker Classic

Alabama’s duo of Davidson and Frick cracks the top-10 in the first tournament of the season
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Alabama women's golf team led by Molly Brown Davidson, wrapped up its first tournament of the fall on Tuesday. Davidson placed eighth overall in her collegiate debut at the Boilermaker Classic, with a 54-hole score of 5-over par 221 (77-75-69). As a team, the Crimson Tide finished the tournament seventh overall at 43-over par 907 (313-300-294), moving up two spots on the final day.

"I was very pleased with Molly and Mattison's top-10 finishes, and their ability to bounce back after a tough opening round. We need to find three more girls that can give us similar results, but there were moments in this tournament that indicated that all five of the other players have that kind of potential."
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Molly Brown Davidson finished the first tournament of her collegiate career with a 3-under par 69 in the final round, moving up 17 spots on the player leaderboard to finish eighth overall
- Davidson's final round of 69 was the third-lowest round throughout the field
- Davidson's average score of 4.83 (2-under par) was tied for the fifth lowest average among the field while posting seven birdies over the course of the tournament
- Finishing right behind Davidson in the top-10 was teammate Mattison Frick, placing ninth overall at 6-over par 222 (80-71-71)
- Frick's ninth place finish is the highest of her career, shattering her previous high of 33rd at last year's Boilermaker Classic
- Alabama's Harriet Lockley (76-77-77/230) and Ryan Flynn (75-77-78/230) finished the tournament tied at 33rdoverall at 14-over par
- Julia Sanchez Morales placed 43rd with a 54-hole score of 16-over par 232 (79-76-77)
- Isabella van der Biest cracked the top-50 on the player leaderboard at 17-over par 233 (78-77-77)
- Rounding out the lineup at 66th overall for Alabama was Kennedy Carroll at 23-over par 239
THE FIELD
- Tournament host Purdue finished first on the team leaderboard at 15-over par 879 (285-300-294)
- Purdue's Natasha Kiel took home the individual crown at 5-under par 211 (67-76-68)
