ATHENS, Ga. –– The Alabama soccer team (7-2-4, 0-0-4 SEC) saw goals from Gianna Paul (27^th minute) and Nedya Sawan (42^nd minute) in a 2-2 draw on the road against Georgia (5-3-4, 1-1-2 SEC) Sunday afternoon.

Paul tallied her ninth goal of the season, a career best, off a cross from Gessica Skorka to open scoring. Georgia would tie the match at 1-1, just three minutes later after Amber Nguyen placed a shot in the upper left corner. Nedya Sawan gave the Tide the lead just before halftime, firing a loose ball inside the box into the upper right corner. Alabama held that lead until the 57^th minute when Georgia's Margie Detrizio netted a cross from Summer Denigan.

"Disappointing that we did not get out of Athens with three points. Once again, I was happy with our effort and performance. We played well against a very good Georgia team. We created some great opportunities and scored two really nice goals. We nearly had a few more if it wasn't for some incredible saves by their goalkeeper. That result/point does not hurt us. Results on the road in this league are hard. We need to take care of business on Friday night when UK (Kentucky) comes to Tuscaloosa. If we do that, we will be in good shape."
