The loss is the first at home, and in SEC play, for the Crimson Tide season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama soccer team (7-3-4, 0-1-4 SEC) fell 2-0 in a home match against Kentucky (9-1-3, 1-1-3) at the Alabama Soccer Stadium Friday night.
The Wildcats secured a pair of first half goals as the Crimson Tide recorded a loss at home for the first time this season. Maddie Kemp notched Kentucky's first goal in the 30th minute, driving a shot from just outside the box into the back of the net. A cross played into the box in the 39th minute would be redirected for an own goal as Kentucky captured a 2-0 lead heading into half.
From Head Coach Wes Hart
"Obviously, we are disappointed with the outcome. We expect to get three points at home and aren't used to losing here. It was a disappointing first half. One of our poorest (halves) that I can remember in a long time. I appreciated the fight we showed in the second half, but it was too little, too late."
