
Alabama Swimming and Diving Olympic Trials Midsummer Update

The Crimson Tide will send 10 current student-athletes to the U.S. Olympic Trials after a strong contingent represented UA on the international stage
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Excitement continues for the Alabama swimming and diving team as 10 current student-athletes make preparations for the U.S. Olympic Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis June 15-23. The competition is one of many this summer as the Crimson Tide has sent competitors around the world to elite events including Australia, the Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, the Netherlands and South Africa.
In addition to the current student-athletes looking to punch their ticket to the Olympic Games in Paris (July 26 - Aug 11), UA has already seen alumni Kristian Gkolomeev (Greece), Victor Johansson (Sweden) and Anton McKee (Iceland) earn their spot on the international stage.
How To Follow the U.S. Trials
- All finals sessions will air live on NBC in primetime starting at 7 p.m. CT, with coverage also streaming on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and the NBC/NBC Sports apps
- USA Network will air coverage of prelims sessions, which can also be streamed live on Peacock and NBC's digital platforms
- Prelims are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., while finals will start at 7 p.m.

Around the World
- Alabama has already had an eventful summer after sending current student-athletes to competitions around the world ahead of this summer's Olympic Games
- Charlie Hawke is currently competing for a chance to represent Australia in July as he closes competition on Saturday, while Diana Petkova is representing Bulgaria at the European Championships
- The Tide sent two swimmers to the Canadian Trials as Avery Wiseman and Colin Cosgrove both competed in breaststroke events at the elite competition
- A trio of UA competitors traveled to Brazil in early May as Kaique Alves, Bernardo Bondra de Almeida and Leonardo Alcantara swam at the six-day Brazilian Championships
- Tim Korstanje (Netherlands) and Michael Deans (South Africa) kicked off the summer, competing at their respective national trials
- Zarek Wilson will be the last Tide swimmer to compete for a chance in Paris as he heads to Nassau, Bahamas, to represent Trinidad at the Bahamas Aquatics Championships (June 20-23)
Incoming Tide
- In addition to the current roster of student-athletes competing internationally, Alabama is bringing in a wealth of talent as five of its incoming athletes qualified for international Olympic Trial competitions
- Georgie Roper (Australia) is currently racing in Australia alongside Hawke, while Toni Dragoja (Croatia), Kyle Micallef (Malta) and Victoria Raymond (Canada) are competing at the European Championships
- Raymond and Emma Sundermeyer also swam at the Canadian Trials with Wiseman and Cosgrove
- Lance Johnson will join the Crimson Tide contingent at the U.S. Trials in Indianapolis
