Nine Student-Athletes Named to Outdoor Track and Field All-SEC Teams

The Crimson Tide had seven representatives make the men’s All-SEC Team, while a pair of student-athletes earned All-SEC recognition on the women’s side
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nine members of the Alabama track and field program were awarded Outdoor Track and Field All-Southeastern Conference honors, the league office announced Tuesday.
The women's team was represented by First Team All-SEC honorees Doris Lemngole and Hilda Olemomoi. On the men's side, Victor Kiprop, Tarsis Orogot and Chris Robinson earned First Team All-SEC recognition, as Carson Burian, Corde Long, Khaleb McRae and Samuel Ogazi were awarded Second Team All-SEC honors.
Crimson Tide Women: First Team All-SEC
- Doris Lemngole earned first-team honors via her first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:28.21)
- Lemngole clocked both a meet and facility record en route to Alabama's first ever gold medal in the event
- Before her weekend was done, Lemngole finished second in the 5,000-meter run, awarding her a share of the Women's Commissioner's trophy that's given to the student-athlete that earned the most points (18), individually, throughout the conference meet
- Hilda Olemomoi secured first-team honors after collecting gold in the 10,000-meter run behind a time of 33:47.19
- The feat marked the first Southeastern Conference gold medal of her career
Crimson Tide Men: First Team All-SEC
- Victor Kiprop earned first-team honors after collecting his third consecutive gold medal in the 10,000-meter run behind a time of 29:36.95
- With his victory, Kiprop became the first student-athlete in conference history to win three straight golds in the event, and gave the Crimson Tide its seventh-straight first-place finish in the outdoor event – the longest active streak in the SEC
- Tarsis Orogot picked up first-team honors after finishing first in the 200-meter dash behind a personal-best time of 19.75
- Orogot's NCAA-leading time not only set a meet and school record, but also secured him the Ugandan national record and the East African record
- Chris Robinson secured first-team honors after collecting gold in the 400-meter hurdles behind a time of 48.43
- Robinson was also a member of UA's 4x400-meter relay squad that finished second (2:59.06)
Crimson Tide Men: Second Team All-SEC
- Carson Burian earned second-team honors after claiming silver in the 3,000-meter steeplechase behind a time of 8:59.72
- Burian's performance was the Tide's first second-place finish in the event since Antibahs Kosgei in 2017
- Khlaeb McRae was awarded second-team honors after his third-place finish in the 400-meter dash, clocking a personal-best time of 44.68
- McRae's performance is now the third-fastest time in the NCAA and the second-fastest time in school history
- Samuel Ogazi picked up second-team honors after taking silver in the 400-meter dash
- With his personal-best time of 44.58, Ogazi now holds the school record, the second-fastest time in the NCAA and the sixth-fastest U20 time in the world
- McRae, Ogazi and Corde Long were also members of UA's 4x400-meter relay squad that finished second (2:59.06)
- The 4x4 group finished only three-hundredths of a second shy of first place, securing the second-fastest time in school history and in the NCAA this season
