TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 24 Alabama women's tennis team dropped its final home match of the 2023-24 season to No. 16 Auburn, 4-3, on Friday night. The Crimson Tide picked up a trio of singles wins from Ola Pitak, Anna Parkhomenko and Klara Milicevic.
The Tigers claimed the doubles point after earning wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. No. 42 nationally-ranked doubles duo Angella Okutoyi and Adeline Flach of Auburn defeated Anna Parkhomenko and Petra Sedlackova, 6-3. Ali Despain and Ava Esposito Cogan downed Klara Milicevic and Ola Pitak, 6-4, to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage.
Alabama battled to earn three singles points, including Parkhomenko beating Flach in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-4, on court five, and Milicevic defeating Ali Despain, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 on court six. Pitak claimed the final point for the Tide, after defeating Okutoyi in three sets on court four (4-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5).
Auburn would win singles points on courts one and two before capturing the deciding point in three sets on court three.
