
Women’s Golf Finishes in 12th Place at the SEC Championship

Sarah Edwards finished as the Crimson Tide’s top player on the individual leaderboard
BELLEAIR, Fla. – The Alabama women's golf team wrapped up the final day of the SEC Championship on Sunday at the Pelican Golf Club. The Crimson Tide ended the day with a 54-hole score of 32-over par 872 (290-293-289).
Senior Sarah Edwards posted a top-25 finish and the Tide's highest finish on the player leaderboard, carding a 5-over par 215 (71-69-75) placing 23rd overall.

"We are very disappointed not to qualify for match play. We had our chances today but kept offsetting our birdies with bogeys or higher. We just can't make the mistakes that we made and expect to compete with the quality of teams that make up the SEC."
INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
- As a team, Alabama recorded the third most birdies (42) throughout the three-day tournament
- Sarah Edwards' 23rd overall finish is her second career top-25 finish at the SEC Championship
- Edwards posted an average score of 4.00 on Par 4s throughout the tournament, which was the fifth lowest average amongst the golfers
- Kaitlyn Schroeder moved up 19 spots in the final round to place 30th overall at 7-over par 217 (73-76-68)
- Schroeder's 2-under par 68 on the final day was tied for the sixth lowest score on Sunday
- In her first SEC Championship, freshman Harriet Lockley finished 40th overall at 9-over par 219 (71-73-75)
- Taylor Kehoe placed 57th on the player leaderboard after carding 14-over par 224 (75-75-74)
- Elina Sinz recorded 10 birdies throughout the tournament, finishing in 61st at 16-over par (77-77-72)
TEAM RESULTS
- South Carolina finished in first on the team leaderboard at 3-under par 837 (275-282-280)
- Mississippi State's Julia Lopez Ramirez took home the individual crown on the player leaderboard at 10-under par 200 (67-68-65)
