Alabama Track and Field Splits Squad for this Weekend’s Bryan Clay Invitational and Tom Jones Memorial Invitational

The Crimson Tide will send delegates to Azusa, Calif., as well as Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the two-day meets over the weekend
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's track and field teams will split up for a pair of road meets over the weekend. The Crimson Tide will send 23 student-athletes to Azusa, Calif., for the Bryan Clay Invitational at the Cougar Athletic Stadium, with an additional 41 making the trip to Gainesville, Fla., as it competes in the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational inside the James G. Pressly Stadium.
The Crimson Tide opens the three-day Bryan Clay Invitational in the women's 10,000-meter with Elka Machan leading things off at 10:25 p.m. CT Thursday.
The Tom Jones Memorial Invitational begins with the women's 200-meter dash as Ariike Elijah gets things started at 11 a.m. CT Friday.

- Time: First track event starts at 11 a.m. CT in the women's 200-meter dash, with the first field event set to begin at 1 p.m. CT in the men's high jump
- Location: Gainesville, Fla.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Crimson Tide posted seven first-place finishes: Caelyn Harris (women's long jump), Keaton Morrison (women's 800-meter), Doris Lemngole (women's 1,500-meter), Lilly Walters (women's 3,000-meter steeplechase), Samuel Ogazi (men's 200-meter dash), Carson Burian (men's 1,500-meter) and Chris Robinson, Tarsis Orogot, Matthew Weaver and Spencer Gudgel (men's 4x400-meter relay)
- Lemngole clocked the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA this season, the fourth-fastest time in program history and the fastest time by an SEC runner this season in the women's 1,500-meter (4:11.90)
- Lilly Walters ran the fourth-fastest time in program history in the women's 3,000-meter with a 10:28.46
