
Women’s Golf Set to Compete at the Valspar Augusta Invitational

The Crimson Tide will play in its second invitational this week
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's golf will travel to Augusta, Ga, to compete at the two-day, 54-hole Valspar Augusta Invitational hosted by Augusta. The event takes place Friday, March 8, before taking Saturday off and will return to the course on Sunday, March 10, at the par 72, 6,261-yard Forest Hills Golf Club.
Alabama will begin teeing off in the event Friday morning at 10:30 a.m., paired alongside Georgia and South Florida on hole No. 1.
The Lineup
- The Tide's starting five for the event will be Sarah Edwards, Kaitlyn Schroeder, Elina Sinz, Taylor Kehoe and Harriet Lockley with Mattie Frick competing as an individual
- Edwards and Schroeder are coming off finishing a team-best 40th overall at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
- Sinz is coming off placing 49th at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, carding a 7-over par (72-73-75/220)
- Kehoe ranks second on the team in overall stroke average (72.28) and average vs. par (+0.44)
- Lockley makes her first appearance in the starting lineup this Spring season
- Frick will compete as an individual coming off finishing 77th overall at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
Tournament Preview
- Joining Alabama, the 15-team features nine squads from the SEC in Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and South Carolina
- Other teams that make up the playing field are Augusta, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Florida State, Furman, Louisville, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest
