The Crimson Tide are tied for fourth after at the Valspar Augusta Invitational
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Alabama women's golf team sits in fourth place after the opening round of the Valspar Augusta Invitational with a team total of 5-under par 289. In her first appearance in the starting lineup this Spring, Harriet Lockley leads the Crimson Tide in a tie for sixth place with a score of 4-under par. The Crimson Tide have four players in the top-50 on the player leaderboard.
Play was paused in the second round due to weather at the two-day, 54-hole tournament hosted by Augusta. The invitational will resume Sunday due to weather and is being contested at the par 72, 6,261-yard Forest Hills Club in Augusta, Ga.
ROUND ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Harriet Lockley was tied for the lowest average score on Par 3's (2.67)
- Kaitlyn Schroeder sits tied for 29th shooting 1-over par 73 with a pair of birdies and was 1-under par through nine holes in the second round
- Sarah Edwards also shot 1-over par in the first round and carded an even-par in her first nine holes of the second round
- After going 4-over par 76 in the first round, Elina Sinz posted two birdies in the second round as she sits in a tie for 48thplace, moving up 27 spots on the leaderboard
- Taylor Kehoe is in 59th overall after scoring even-par in the first round and 3-over par through 10 holes within the second round
- Competing as an individual, Mattie Frick sits in 86th overall at 12-over par
TEAM RESULTS
- Ole Miss (-14) leads the 17-team field with a 4-stroke lead over South Carolina (-10)
- Georgia's LoreLie Cowart and Ole Miss' duo of Natacha Husted and Sophie Linder leads the player leaderboard tied at 7-under par

- Alabama will continue round two of the event Sunday morning beginning at 8:20 a.m. CT on paired alongside Georgia and South Florida
