No. 23 Alabama Women’s Tennis Falls 4-1 to No. 4 Georgia on Friday

Anne Marie Hiser earned the Crimson Tide’s only point of the match during singles play
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 23 Alabama women's tennis team fell to No. 4 Georgia, 4-1, on Friday at home. The Crimson Tide move to 14-5 on the season and 5-4 in Southeastern Conference play.
Georgia (13-3, 8-0 SEC) took the doubles point over Alabama after winning spots two and three. Doubles duo Guillermina Grant and Mai Nirundorn of Georgia defeated Petra Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot, while at No. 3 Anastasiia Lopata and Mell Reasco defeated Ola Pitak and Klara Milicevic, 6-4. On court one, Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh battled with Aysegul Mert and Dasha Vidmanova to a 5-5 unfinished match.
The Bulldogs went on to clinch three singles points starting on court five with Aysegul Mert defeating Klara Milicevic (6-1, 6-2). On court one, Dasha Vidmanova beat Loudmilla Bencheikh (6-3,6-2) before Guillermina Grant defeated Anna Parkhomenko (6-4, 6-3) on court six. Alabama's Anne Marie Hiser downed Mell Reasco in straight sets, 6-1 6-4, to give the Tide its only point of the day.

"The team competed hard today but fell a bit short against No. 4 Georgia. We have to keep trusting ourselves and continue to play our game. If we do that, we can compete against anyone in our conference."
