
Women’s Golf Closes Regular Season at the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate

The Crimson Tide will tee off in the two-day event Friday morning
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's golf team is set to return to action this weekend as it travels to Athens, Ga., to compete at its last regular season tournament of the spring at the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate. Hosted by the University of Georgia, the two-day, 54-hole event will take place Friday and Saturday at the par 72, 6,351-yard UGA Golf Course.
The Crimson Tide will begin play Friday morning with a shotgun start of 7:30 a.m. on holes Nos. 13-15, paired alongside Illinois and Charleston.
THE LINEUP
- The Tide's lineup for the event is the same as last week's Florida State Match Up and features Sarah Edwards, Taylor Kehoe, Elina Sinz, Harriet Lockley and Kaitlyn Schroeder
- The trio of Edwards, Kehoe and Sinz have competed in the Tide's lineup for every event of the year
- Helping lead the Tide to a seventh-place finish last week, Edwards leads the Tide in overall stroke average (72.13), average vs. par (+0.25) and rounds of par or better (12) with all 24 of her rounds played counted towards the team's total score in every event
- Kehoe ranks second on the squad in overall stroke average (72.83) and average vs. par (+0.96)
- Sinz is second in carding rounds of par or better (10) and third in stroke average (73.00) after collecting her third top-25 finish of the year last week
- Lockley and Schroeder round out the Tide's starting five in the event
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
- Joining Alabama, the 15-team features five squads from the SEC including Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Missouri
- Other teams that make up the playing field Augusta, Charleston, Emory, Georgia Southern, Illinois, Kansas State, Michigan, N.C. State, San Diego State, SMU and Virginia
