Alabama Track and Field Set for Multi-Meet Weekend, Traveling to Stanford Invitational and Battle on the Bayou

The Crimson Tide will send delegates to Palo Alto, Calif., as well as Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the two-day meets over the weekend
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's track and field teams will split up for a pair of two-day meets over the weekend. The Crimson Tide will send four student-athletes to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Stanford Invitational at the Cobb Track and Angell Field, with an additional 53 student-athletes making the trip to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the Battle on the Bayou inside the Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
The Crimson Tide opens the Stanford Invitational on Friday, March 29, in the women's 10,000-meter with Hilda Olemomoi leading things off at 10:48 p.m. CT.
UA also opens the two-day Battle on the Bayou in the men's hammer throw with Ruben Banks and Tommy Danner starting at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

THE BATTLE ON THE BAYOU

- Time: First field event starts at 12:30 p.m. CT in the men's hammer throw, with the first track event starting at 5 p.m. CT in the men's 400-meter hurdle
- Location: Baton Rouge, La.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Crimson Tide posted three first-place finishes at the Bulldog Relays: Amani Heaven (women's discus throw), Victoria Faber (women's pole vault) and Crawford West (women's 3,000-meter)
- Faber posted a seventh-best mark in program history with a 4.02-meter (13-2.25) jump
- West claimed the No. 8 spot in program history after clocking a personal-best 9:57.37
- The trio of Crawford West (first | 9:57.37), Leah Kleekamp (second | 10:01.55) and Kaylie Crews (10:05.28) swept the women's 3000-meter run
- Alabama collected 23 top-10 finishes while in Starkville, Miss.
