
Alabama Earns All-America Honors in Opening Event at NCAA Championships

The women’s 200 medley relay team captured a time of 1:36.18 to finish 16th in the race
ATHENS, Ga. – Alabama earned All-America honors in its first event at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday.
The women's 200 medley relay team of Gaby Van Brunt, Avery Wiseman, Kailyn Winter and Cadence Vincent combined for a 1:36.18 to finish 16th overall and earn Second Team All-America honors in the race.
Alabama secured All-America honors in the 200 medley relay for the fourth consecutive year and the sixth time in the last seven years with the only exception being the 2020 season, which was shortened due to the COVID pandemic.
Van Brunt opened the race with a time of 24.29 in the 50 backstroke, before Wiseman followed with a 26.78 breaststroke time. Winter clocked 23.16, swimming the 50 butterfly leg, before Vincent closed with a 50 free time of 21.95.
Alabama concluded the opening night in 20th place with two points.
