
Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at the Florida State Matchup

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Alabama women's golf wrapped up the Florida State Matchup, finishing 7th overall with a score of 12-over par 876 (289-287-300). The Crimson Tide were led by Sarah Edwards and Elina Sinz who finished tied for 22nd overall on the player leaderboard at 2-over par.
Seventh place is the highest finish for the Tide this Spring with five golfers cracking the top-30 on the player leaderboard.
ALABAMA HIGHLIGHTS
- Alabama recorded 170 pars throughout the tournament, which ranked second amongst the field
- The Crimson Tide had an average score of 3.02 on Par 3s, the third-lowest average in the tournament
- Elina Sinz (69-72-77) and Sarah Edwards (74-69-75) tied for 22nd overall at 2-over par
- Competing as an individual, Mattie Frick finished 24th overall at 3-over par 220 (71-74-74)
- Harriet Lockley recorded four birdies in the final round, finishing in 28th place at 4-over par 220 (72-74-74)
- Taylor Kehoe moved up three spots on the final day after shooting 2-over par 74 for a total of 5-over par 221 (74-73-74)
- Kaitlyn Schroeder rounded out the lineup at 9-over par 225 (74-73-78) placing 40th overall
TEAM RESULTS
- Duke (-30) came in first place as a team in the 14-team field, 10 strokes ahead of 2nd place and tournament host Florida State (-20)
- Duke's Katie Li took home the individual title at 12-under par 204 (66-66-72)
UP NEXT
- Alabama will return to the course on March 29 when they travel to Athens, Ga. to compete in the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate
