No. 24 Alabama Returns Home to Host a Trio of Weekend Matches

The Crimson Tide will battle No. 16 South Carolina on Friday before facing No. 25 Florida and Alabama A&M for a doubleheader on Sunday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– After five weeks on the road, the No. 24 Alabama men's tennis team (11-7, 1-2 SEC) returns home to host a trio of matches at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The Crimson Tide opens the weekend against Southeastern Conference foe No. 16 South Carolina (7-7, 1-2 SEC) on Friday at 4 p.m. CT. UA kicks off a doubleheader on Sunday with Florida (8-6, 2-2 SEC) at 1 p.m., before hosting Alabama A&M (4-6, 4-0 SWAC) at 5 p.m.

- Alabama returns home after competing in 11 consecutive road matches over a five-week span
- Included in that series was two tournament appearances as the Tide battled three top-10 ranked teams at the ITA National Indoor Championships in No. 1 Ohio State, No. 10 Columbia and No. 5 Southern California, respectively
- UA also competed in three matches over a two-day span at the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic, facing Rice, Princeton and SEC rival Auburn
- Alabama will face its seventh and eighth ranked opponent this season when it hosts No. 16 South Carolina and No. 25 Florida
- The season is highlighted by ranked wins over then-No. 10 Kentucky (Jan. 27) and then-No. 5 Southern California (Feb. 18)
- The Tide has held a national ranking for seven consecutive weeks, entering the weekend as the 24th-ranked team
- Additionally, Filip Planinsek and Enzo Aguiard hold national rankings in singles play as the No. 46 and No. 69-ranked players, respectively, in the country
- Planinsek and Andrii Zimnokh lead the Tide, ranking No. 74 in doubles action
