Oats is one of 15 head coaches named to the watch list
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men's basketball head coach Nate Oats has been named to the 2024 Werner Ladder Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year Late Season Watch List presented by AXIA Time. This is the third time in the last four seasons that Oats has been named to the Naismith Late Season Watch List.

- Since Oats arrived at Alabama in 2019-20 the Crimson Tide has won a league-best 60 SEC games
- Alabama is one win away from back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2012-13
- In the last four seasons, the Tide has won an SEC-best 95 overall games and ranks No. 9 in Division I during that span
- UA has scored 100-points in eight games this season and is the most by an SEC school since Kentucky's 1995-96 team (nine games)
- The Crimson Tide own the No. 1 scoring offense (91.0 ppg) in the country
- Oats is one of three SEC coaches (Auburn's Bruce Pearl and South Carolina's Lamont Paris) that was named to the watch list
