PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Senior Thomas Ponder finished in fourth overall to lead the Alabama men's golf team at the Watersound Invitational, which concluded play Wednesday. The Crimson Tide finished the three day, 54-hole tournament in 10th place with a team total of 4-over par 868 (287-301-280).

The three-day, 54-hole event, which was co-hosted by the Crimson Tide, was held on the par 72, 7,246-yard Sharks Tooth Golf Club course in Panama City, Fla.
Head Coach Jay Seawell Comments
"This was a great way to start the spring season. It was exciting for us to co-host down here at such a great course as Shark's Tooth and the Watersound folks have always been very gracious to us. They put on a great tournament and it's a pleasure for us to co-host this event with Florida State.
"We wanted to be in a great event with great competition to begin the year, and that's exactly what this was. We learned a lot. (Round two) was poor, but I love the way the boys responded (in round three). Yesterday may have been our identity for this event but it's not going to be our identity for this year. I'm really proud of the response today and thought they did a great job."
