Alabama Women’s Golf Returns to Action at the Moon Golf Invitational

The Crimson Tide will tee off in the three-day event starting Saturday afternoon
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's golf returns to action this weekend at the Moon Golf Invitational, hosted by Louisville. The three-day, 54-hole event will take place Saturday through Monday at the par 72, 6,503-yard Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Fla.
Due to the chance of inclement weather, round one of the event has been moved to Saturday afternoon with the Tide paired alongside No. 13 UCF and No. 21 Florida State and a shotgun start at 12:15 p.m. CT.
The Lineup
- The Tide's starting five for the event will be Sarah Edwards, Taylor Kehoe, Elina Sinz, Kaitlyn Schroeder and Kynadie Adams
- Edwards enters the field leading the Tide in overall stroke average (70.92), average vs. par (-1.08) and rounds of par or better (9)
- The trio of Edwards, Kehoe and Sinz are the only three UA golfers to have earned spots on the starting lineup in all four fall events and have all of their rounds count towards the team total score
- Kehoe, who carded three rounds in the 60s during the fall, enters the spring season after capturing two top-5 finishes in the Tide's fall campaign and ranks second in overall stroke average (71.25) and average vs. par (-0.75)
- Sinz showed out last fall as the transfer carded six rounds of par or better, one being in the 60s, and collecting one top-20 finish across the fall season
- Schroeder was named to the Tide's starting lineup in three events during the fall, carding five rounds of par or better across her nine rounds played
- Adams rounds out the Tide's starting five as she competes in her second event of the 2023-24 campaign
Tournament Preview
- The teams will compete in a five-count-four stroke play format
- The 17-team field features 12 teams ranked in the top-25 according to Clippd
- Joining No. 32 Alabama includes No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 3 Arkansas, No. 9 Florida, No. 10 LSU, No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 12 Texas A&M, No. 13 UCF, No. 14 Northwestern, No. 15 Auburn, No. 16 Duke, No. 17 Clemson and No. 21 Florida State
- Augusta, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech round out the field
