Paul, Skorka Earn United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Honors

Gianna Paul was named a first-team honoree, while Skorka was a third-team recipient
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– For their success both in the classroom and on the field, Alabama duo Gianna Paul and Gessica Skorka were tabbed Scholar All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced Thursday.
The honor is the first for Paul and Skorka, who were named to the first and third team, respectively. The Alabama standouts earned the Crimson Tide's eighth and ninth scholar All-American honor as the Tide has now notched seven selections since 2021.
Gianna Paul, First Team Scholar All-American
- Secured her first All-American honor after being named a 2024 United Soccer Coaches All-American fourth team recipient
- Earned USC First Team All-Southeast honors for the second straight year
- Named a 2024 First Team All-SEC selection, her third consecutive year earning all-conference honors and second straight being named a first-team selection
- Led the Tide in both goals (12) and points (25)
- Finished the season ranked 17th nationally in game-winning goals (5) and 27th in total goals (12)
- Scored five goals in SEC play
- Her 12 goals this season ranks her third all-time in program history while also moving her to third in career goals with 28
- Ranks seventh at UA in career points (63)
- 2024 College Sports Communicator All-District honoree
Gessica Skorka, Third Team Scholar All-American
- United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region honoree
- Named a First Team All-SEC honoree, her second consecutive year being named a first-team selection
- Paced the Alabama defense and aided the team in five shutouts
- Despite playing on the backline, tied as the team leader in assists (5)
- Ranks third all-time at Alabama in career assists
- Concluded the conference tournament with 104 career game appearances, ranking her fifth nationally among active Division I players
- Set the Alabama record in career starts with 96
- A two-time College Sports Communicator Academic All-American honoree (2022, 2023)
- A three-time College Sports Communicator All-District honoree (2022, 2023, 2024)
