
Volleyball Falls to Missouri in Three Sets Friday in Columbia

Alabama heads to Fayetteville to face Arkansas Sunday at 3 p.m. CT
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Alabama volleyball fell to Missouri in three sets on the road Friday night by set scores of 22-25, 19-25 and 21-25.
Alabama (9-6, 1-3 SEC) led for the majority of the first set before a 5-0 run from Missouri (11-5, 2-2 SEC) pushed the home team ahead, 23-21, and forced a Crimson Tide timeout. The Tigers held on to complete the comeback and win the opener, 25-22. Neither team could build a lead larger than two points in set two until Missouri scored three in a row to lead 12-9 at the halfway mark. Leading by three again later at 20-17, the Tigers closed out the frame with a 5-2 run to win, 25-19, and take a 2-0 match lead. Set three started close as well, with no lead larger than a point until the home squad pulled ahead 13-11. Alabama fought back to tie the score twice at 15-15 and 16-16 but could not take the lead. The Tigers ultimately held on to take the set, 25-21, and complete the sweep.
