Alabama Holds First Practice of 2023-24 Season at Foster Auditorium

The Crimson Tide opens the season at home versus Alabama State on Nov. 6
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball held its first official practice of the 2023-24 season inside Foster Auditorium on Monday afternoon.
The Crimson Tide returns five veterans, including three-point shooter, Aaliyah Nye, who finished last season second in the Southeastern Conference in three-point field goal percentage (45.1%), just behind former teammate Hannah Barber. Also in the mix are seniors Loyal McQueen, Sarah Ashlee Barker and JeAnna Cunningham, along with sophomore Karly Weathers.
Alabama rounds out its 2023-24 roster with six newcomers. Jessica Timmons, Del'Janae Williams and Meg Newman make up the Tide's transfer class, as Reychel Douglas Naomi Jones and Essence Cody all arrive to the Capstone as true freshman.
Head coach Kristy Curry will begin her 11th season with the Tide on Nov. 6 when Alabama State comes to Coleman Coliseum for the season opener. Alabama will feature 15 nonconference games and 16 SEC matchups. TV selections and tipoff times will be announced at a later date.
