
Alabama Set to Travel to Syracuse for ACC/SEC Women’s Basketball Challenge

The two teams will square off on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. CT in Syracuse, N.Y.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team will head to Syracuse, N.Y., to face the Orange in the ACC/SEC Challenge, ESPN announced Wednesday. The two teams will square off on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. CT.
The ACC/SEC Challenge will take the place of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge as well as the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. Games for the 2023-24 Challenge will be broadcast on ESPN with television designations being announced at a later date.
About the Challenge
- Alabama and Syracuse will meet on the court for the first time in November
- UA's last Challenge matchup was against Oklahoma State as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge during the 2020-21 season
- UA held a 2-2 record in the Big 12/SEC Challenge with wins over Kansas (71-65, 2016) and Oklahoma State (76-72, 2020) and losses to TCU (88-67, 2017) and Iowa State (75-66, 2019)
- Both Alabama (20-11) and Syracuse (20-13) posted 20-win seasons last year
- Alabama earned an NCAA Tournament berth, its second in three years
- Syracuse advanced to the WNIT
