Alabama Women’s Tennis Drops 4-2 Decision to Arkansas

The Crimson Tide returns home for its final two matches of the regular season
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Alabama women's tennis program (12-9, 5-6 SEC) fell to Arkansas (11-10, 5-7 SEC), 4-2, at the Billingsley Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Crimson Tide's duo of Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh won the first doubles match of the day, 6-2, on court one before the Razorbacks secured the final two courts to clinch the doubles point.
Bencheikh would open singles play with a two-set win (7-5, 6-1) on court one to even the match at 1-1. Arkansas and Alabama would alternate wins on courts six and four, respectively, as Hiser's win on court four (6-4, 6-3) leveled the score once again. Tied at 2-2, the Razorbacks would seal the match with back-to-back wins on courts five and two.
The Match
- After dropping the first doubles match, Arkansas bounced back with consecutive victories on the final two courts to claim the doubles point
- In singles, Loudmilla Bencheikh (7-5, 6-1) and Anne Marie Hiser (6-4, 6-3) won courts one and four, respectively, in straight sets
- With the score tied at two, Arkansas would claim back-to-back wins on courts five and two, respectively, to clinch the match victory

- Alabama returns home for its final two matches of the regular season, playing Florida on Friday, April 14, and South Carolina on Sunday, April 16
- First serve against the Gators is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT, followed by a 1 p.m. start against the Gamecocks
- Friday's match will also serve as senior day for Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak
- The weekend events will also be the final two home matches of head coach Jenny Mainz's tenure before her retirement at the end of the season
