Alabama Women’s Tennis Opens Second Round of SEC Tournament with Vanderbilt on Thursday

The ninth-seeded Crimson Tide goes head-to-head with eighth-seeded Vanderbilt at noon CT on Thursday
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Alabama women's tennis team will face Vanderbilt in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on Thursday against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The ninth-seeded Crimson Tide and eighth-seeded Commodores will compete at noon CT at George M. Billingsley Tennis Center.

The SEC Tournament
- After concluding the regular season, Sunday, against then-No. 29 South Carolina, the Crimson Tide will go head-to-head with Vanderbilt on Thursday in the second round of the SEC Tournament
- Alabama enters the tournament as the ninth seed with a 12-11 record on the season and a 5-8 record in SEC play
- Vanderbilt is the eighth seed and holds a 14-10 overall record, while going 6-7 in SEC play
- The SEC Tournament began Wednesday, April 18, and will run through Sunday, April 23, with the final match set to be played at 1 p.m. CT
- Arkansas is hosting the women's tournament with matches being held at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center
- The winner between Alabama and Vanderbilt will face fourth-seeded Florida on Friday at 9 p.m.

- Vanderbilt enters the conference tournament ranked 34th nationally
- The Commodores split the final weekend of the regular season, beating LSU, 4-2, and falling to Texas A&M, 4-1
- Celia-Belle Mohr leads the Commodores in singles rankings at No. 34, while Bridget Stammel ranks 89th with Anna Ross coming in at No. 117
- Anessa Lee and Mohr rank 66th in doubles after recording five wins, one of which being against a ranked opponent
