SEC Champions; Headed to the College Football Playoff!
An outstanding performance by our football team last Saturday to capture the program's 30th Southeastern Conference championship with a 27-24 victory over Georgia. The win propelled the Crimson Tide into the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings to earn a spot in the CFP Semifinal Game at the Rose Bowl against top-seeded Michigan on Monday, January 1 in Pasadena, Calif. This appearance marks our eighth in the Playoff since its inception in 2014, the most of any program, and also the eighth in the Rose Bowl game.

NCAA Graduation Rate Success
Our student-athletes continue to produce impressive results in the classroom as was recently documented in the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate reports where we had 11 teams with perfect 100s and 13 with a 90 or better. We also improved our overall GSR to 95, which ranks second in the SEC. Congratulations to our teams and kudos to our academic support staff for the job they do in setting our student-athletes up for success.
Women's Basketball Opens Homestand with Big Win
Our women's basketball team began its seven-game homestand on Wednesday with a dominant 88-46 victory over Coastal Carolina in front of thousands of fifth graders inside Coleman Coliseum. The action continues Saturday at 2 p.m. as we host Stephen F. Austin. Don't forget to bring a teddy bear to toss in exchange for an ugly sweater long sleeve, while supplies last! Â

Records Broken as Track and Field Enters Indoor Season
The indoor season started off strong for our distance runners last week as Hillary Cheruiyot and Hilda Olemomoi both shortened their own school records in the 3,000-and-5,000-meter runs, respectively, at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston University's Track and Tennis Center. Meets will pick back up on January 11 with the Harvey Glance Tide and Tigers Dual Meet in Birmingham.
