
Alabama Dominates UAH Enroute to an 82-32 Exhibition Victory

All 11 Crimson Tide players scored in Wednesday night’s 50-point win
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team defeated Alabama-Huntsville, 82-32, Wednesday night in Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide dominated on both ends of the exhibition contest, holding the Chargers to just 14 points in the second half while all 11 UA players on the roster recorded at least one basket.
Alabama made its defensive presence known throughout the game, forcing 24 turnovers while tallying 13 steals and 10 blocks on the night. UA forward Essence Cody led the charge with a game high five swats. The Tide also won the battle on the boards, outrebounding UAH 50-32, including 19 of which were on the offensive glass.
Aaliyah Nye led Alabama with 16 points and three steals while also knocking down a game-high three three-point field goals in the win. The Tide had two others finish in double digits behind Nye, including Sarah Ashlee Barker (13 points, seven rebounds) and Loyal McQueen (12 points, two assists).

- The Tide's largest lead was 52 points (82-30) as UA averaged 1.18 points per possession
- Alabama held UAH to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters
- The Tide dominated points the paint, outscoring the Chargers 46-16
- UAH was limited by the Tide defense to just 20 percent shooting (11-of-54) from the floor and just 7 percent (1-of-14) from beyond the arc
- As a result of forcing 24 turnovers, the Tide owned a 30-12 lead in points off turnovers
- The Tide finished the contest shooting 48 percent from the floor and 31 percent from distance
- UA finished the game outscoring UAH 16-0 in fast break points
How It Happened
- After starting the game missing its first five shots from the field, the Tide cashing in on four consecutive shots to jumpstart an 18-2 run over the final 5:24 to give Alabama a 25-6 lead
- The Crimson Tide continued its dominance by collecting five steals and four blocks to start the second quarter
- The Tide held the Chargers to only one made field goal over their final 12 attempts of the quarter to take a 23-point lead into halftime, 41-18
- After trading buckets to begin the second half, the Crimson Tide put the game away by going on a 20-0 run to take a commanding 65-24 lead into the final frame
- Alabama was able to extend their lead to as many as 52 points, 82-30, before resulting in the final score
