Bryant Society Welcomes 2022 Class
The Bryant Society is the pinnacle of the Crimson Tide Foundation's Lifetime Giving Society, which recognizes the lifetime contributions of donors who philanthropically support Alabama Athletics. The first Bryant Society Induction Ceremony in 2015 honored the original 16 donors whose contributions, at that time, to the Crimson Tide Foundation had reached at least $1 million. Due to the generosity of our loyal supporters, this has become an annual event giving us the opportunity to formally recognize and induct new Bryant Society members during a black-tie ceremony and dinner. On Friday night, we had the privilege of honoring the 2022 class of Bryant Society inductees.
In addition to Friday night's festivities, these donors were recognized in a special presentation at halftime of Saturday's game. We are profoundly thankful for the generosity of our Bryant Society members and the indelible impact they make on our programs.
Soccer Extends Home Win Streak to 13
Soccer won its 13th consecutive home match with a 3-0 victory over Texas A&M on Sunday, which also happened to be our seventh-straight home shutout. The team is on the road this week at Georgia but will be back in action at home Thursday, Oct. 6 against Ole Miss. We've had some wonderful crowds out supporting thus far and encourage even more of you to come out and cheer this history-making team on.
Cross Country Opens Strong
Our cross country squads have come away with team titles in their first two outings, with both the women, ranked 10th nationally, and men, ranked 25th, taking the top spot at the Lion Opener as well as the more recent North Alabama Showcase. With its first two meets of the season coming within the state of Alabama, the men and women are headed to the prestigious Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on Friday. Following this weekend's meet, the Tide returns to campus for its first home event since 2017 when we host the Crimson Classic at the Harry Pritchett Cross Country Course on Oct. 14.
Swimming and Diving Opens 2022-23 on the Road
Our swimming and diving squads start the 2022-23 season on the road, with the women traveling to Fayetteville, Ark., to take on Arkansas, while the men cross the border to face Delta State in Cleveland, Miss. Margo Geer's teams then return to Tuscaloosa to open their home slate against South Carolina on Oct. 15.
Men's and Women's Tennis Set for Fall Home Opener
Our men's and women's tennis teams hit the home courts for the first time this tournament season beginning Friday with the Alabama Four-In-The-Fall. It'll be the second event of the season for our men as they recently wrapped up play at the Bobby Bayliss Invitational at Notre Dame while it'll be the first action of the season for the women.
Tour Program Picks Back up at Bryant-Denny Stadium
We are thrilled to restart our tour program at Bryant-Denny Stadium as we know it's a must see for campus visitors. As of right now, tours will be offered at 11 a.m., Monday through Friday, except for University-observed holidays, Fridays prior to home football games or when special events prohibit.
University Spotlight
In partnership with the UA Arboretum, the Student Government Association recently had its first harvest of vegetables for the University's food pantry after beginning the initiative last year. This project helps expand the food options available to students seeking assistance.
