Football Hosts South Carolina Saturday
Following a thrilling 50-36 home win over Florida State last weekend to remain unbeaten through three contests this season, our football team will close out a two-game homestand this Saturday at 6 p.m. CT vs. South Carolina. It's Family Weekend in Tuscaloosa, so we would like to extend a warm welcome to the thousands of visitors joining us on The University of Alabama campus!

Women's Golf Opens New Era by Winning the Lady Paladin Invitational
Congratulations to head coach Lydia Lasprilla for winning the season-opening Lady Paladin Invitational last weekend. In her first tournament leading our women's golf team, the Crimson Tide took home the team title with a three-day total of 22-under par 842! We had four golfers place inside the top 20, led by SEC Freshman of the Week Manon Petitcolas who placed fourth overall. Way to go ladies!
Cross Country Claims Victory at the Southern Showcase
Our men's and women's cross country teams were both victorious over the weekend in their respective showings at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala. Leading the No. 4-ranked men's team was Dismus Lokira, whose time of 23:08.08 in the 8K not only cemented a first-place finish but surpassed his previous course record of 23:11.08 set in 2025. For the women, Caren Kiplagat was the first to the finish line, closing the 5K run with a top mark of 15:41.04. Both Dismus and Caren were selected the SEC Runners of the Week, while Rodgers Plumo, who finished second overall behind Dismus, earned the league's Freshman of the Week honor! Congratulations to both teams on a great showing in Huntsville!
Swimming and Diving Opens Season with the College Swimming League Match
Alabama swimming returns to action when it opens the 2026-27 campaign Friday evening at the College Swimming League (CSL) match in Westmont, Ill. The inaugural event features 12 of the top NCAA programs in the nation and will be televised nationally on ESPN+. The CSL will consist of six regular season matches and two postseason matches, which should make for a lot of excitement to open the year. Good luck to both our men's and women's teams!
Soccer Continues to Sizzle, Ranked No. 7 in the Nation
Head coach Wes Hart will lead our soccer team into SEC action on the road with a pair of matches this weekend. The team will start the road stretch with a contest at Texas A&M Thursday night at 7 p.m. CT, followed by taking on No. 21 Oklahoma Sunday afternoon at noon CT. Our ladies are coming off back-to-back shutout victories over SEC opposition last week, taking down Auburn 1-0 before toppling Arkansas 2-0 to improve to 9-1 on the year and 2-0 in league play. As a result, goalkeeper Madi Munguia earned her third SEC Defensive Player of the Week honor already!
Men's and Women's Tennis Ready to Compete at ITA All-American Championships
Both our men's and women's tennis teams are being represented at the ITA All-American Championships, which are being played Sept. 19-27. The men's side had four student-athletes who were invited to participate at the event, which is being played in Tulsa, Okla. The women are represented with three student-athletes competing in Cary, N.C.Â
Volleyball Returns Home for SEC Match with Ole Miss
Our volleyball team returns to Foster Auditorium for its SEC home opener when we host Ole Miss on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT. Our ladies are off to an 8-2 start to the season with Sunday's match being the lone home match in its first four league contests. We hope to see you in Foster Auditorium on Sunday!

University Spotlight
Enrollment at The University of Alabama has reached record numbers this year and is a featured in an informative article that I wanted to share with you all. Total fall 2026 enrollment reached 42,431, up 71 students from the fall 2025 census total of 42,360. While the total is a new record, the measured increase reflects a deliberate approach to strategic growth as UA advances its future-ready flagship vision.Â
