Alabama Volleyball Returns to Lone Star State for Horned Frog Invitational

The Crimson Tide will face Louisiana, TCU and Texas State
FORT WORTH, Texas – Alabama volleyball returns to the Lone Star State for the second time this season, heading to the campus of TCU for the Horned Frog Invitational starting Friday, Sept. 16. The Crimson Tide will face off against Louisiana and the host Horned Frogs on Friday before wrapping up the weekend against Texas State on Saturday.

Scouting Alabama
- Alabama enters week three with a 5-4 record after going 1-2 at last weekend's Ball State Tournament
- This week continues a 10-match road streak for the Crimson Tide, who will not play at home until Saturday, Sept. 24 against Auburn
- This is already Alabama's second trip to the state of Texas this season, previously playing in Houston at the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup in week two
- Alabama leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally with 85 aces, while Abby Marjama also leads the SEC and is second in the national rankings with 27
- The Tide returns 14 players from last year's squad, including seniors Taylor Drapp, Emily Janek, Dru Kuck, Katie Shook and Alyiah Wells and fifth-year senior Abby Marjama

Last Time Out: Ball State Tournament
- Alabama went 1-2 at last weekend's Ball State Tournament in Muncie, Ind., falling to Green Bay and Ball State before closing the weekend with a four-set win over Arkansas State
- Alyiah Wells was named to the All-Tournament Team, hitting .338 with 32 kills and a team-leading 16 blocks over the weekend
- Tide players totaled five double-doubles over the weekend, matching the combined total from the two preceding weeks
- Kendyl Reaugh led the team with 44 kills (3.67/set), including a career-best 18 in the win over the Red Wolves
- Abby Marjama remained a force at the service line, leading the team with 10 aces, while Sydney Gholson was close behind with eight making her season debut over the weekend

- Alabama leads the SEC in service aces (85, 2.43/set) as a team while Abby Marjama (27, 0.84/set) leads the individual rankings
- After Marjama's 27 aces, the next-highest individual total in the league is 16
