
Alabama Faces Florida Atlantic, Miami Opening Weekend

The Crimson Tide takes on Florida Atlantic Thursday, before traveling to Miami for a Sunday matchup against the Hurricanes
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team opens the 2022 season this week as the team heads to Boca Raton, Fla., Thursday to face Florida Atlantic and Coral Gables, Fla., Sunday to take on Miami. UA will kick off against the Owls at 6 p.m. CT, while its game against the Hurricanes starts at 4 p.m. CT.

A Look At Alabama
- Alabama returns 80 percent of its roster and all of its starters from last season
- The 2021 team put together one of the best campaigns in program history, including advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time

Scouting The Tide
- UA's leading-goal scorers and top-two players in points Ashlynn Serepca and Kate Henderson, respectively, return to the pitch
- The Tide also returns starting goalkeeper McKinley Crone, who tallied six shutouts and 71 saves in 2021
- Reyna Reyes put together a strong performance defensively last season, earning United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team and First Team All-SEC honors, in addition to twice being named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week and earning TopDrawSoccer Team of the Week honors following the team's win at Clemson
- Riley Mattingly Parker makes her return to the pitch after missing a season and a half due to an injury. In the team's exhibition against Vanderbilt Saturday, she scored a pair of goals to lift UA to a 3-1 win over the Commodores.
- UA adds seven new faces to the squad in graduate transfer goalkeeper Dylan Pixton, senior transfer defender Marianna Annest and freshmen Ellie Lanyi, Sydney Japic, Gianna Paul, Kaydence Ramirez and Maria Vanore
