Softball Heads to Gainesville for Three-Game Road Swing

Scouting Alabama
- Alabama continues SEC play this weekend with a three-game road series at Florida, starting Saturday, April 9
- All three games will be nationally televised, with Saturday on ESPN at 4 p.m. CT, Sunday on ESPN2 at 3 p.m. CT and Monday on the SEC Network at 6 p.m. CT
- The Tide is coming off a series win against Georgia last weekend at Rhoads Stadium, rebounding from a game-one loss with a 9-3 win in game two and a 9-0 run-rule win in game three behind Lexi Kilfoyl's perfect game
- Kilfoyl was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week after a 2-0 weekend against the Bulldogs with just three runs allowed over 13.2 innings pitched
- Alabama currently leads the SEC with an 8-4 conference record, half a game ahead of Arkansas and Kentucky at 6-3 and Tennessee at 7-4 and one game ahead of Florida and Auburn at 7-5
- The Tide has scored six or more runs in seven of its last eight games

- The Tide is now 51-21 all-time vs. the Bulldogs with a 27-9 mark in Tuscaloosa
- Alabama has never lost a three-game home series to Georgia, with last weekend marking the 10th meeting between the two in Tuscaloosa
- Kilfoyl was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 over three appearances in the series, allowing just three runs to the league's top-ranked offense over 13.2 innings pitched capped by a six-inning perfect game on Monday

Kilfoyl Named SEC Pitcher of the Week
- Alabama junior Lexi Kilfoyl was named the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week following a 2-0 weekend against Georgia, including a perfect game in Monday's series finale
- Kilfoyl allowed just three runs over 13.2 innings to the league's top-ranked offense for a 1.54 ERA
- She struck out a season-high eight batters on Sunday before coming back with an even better performance on Monday, striking out 10 in a six-inning perfect game to clinch the weekend series
- The weekly award is the first this season for Kilfoyl and her first career Pitcher of the Week honor, previously winning Freshman of the Week (Feb. 17, 2020) and Newcomer of the Week (March 16, 2021)
- It is the third Pitcher of the Week for the Crimson Tide this season after Montana Fouts won back-to-back awards on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. Alabama pitchers have now won a combined 48 SEC Pitcher of the Week awards all-time
