Alabama Hosts Mississippi State in Spring Finale Friday

The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will kick off at the Alabama Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. CT Friday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team will conclude its spring competition on Friday as the Crimson Tide hosts Mississippi State in a 7 p.m. CT game at the Alabama Soccer Stadium.
Admission to Friday's game against Mississippi State is free.
Alabama
- The Crimson Tide concludes spring competition Friday as UA hosts Mississippi State at the Alabama Soccer Stadium
- The match is the fifth for the Tide and the second at home after opening the spring slate with Lipscomb on March 5
- Friday's game is also the third against a Southeastern Conference foe with Alabama also going head-to-head against Vanderbilt and Auburn
- The Tide has gone undefeated in its spring exhibitions with only one game ending in a tie
- Alabama posted two 1-0 victories against Lipscomb, as the teams played two 60-minute games, a 5-0 win over Kennesaw State and a 2-1 win against Auburn
- UA and Vanderbilt tied in its meeting earlier this month as the two teams finished with a 0-0 draw at the end of regulation
Last Time Out
- Alabama and Auburn went head-to-head in the Crimson Tide's last outing
- UA recorded a 2-1 win over Auburn in that Friday night match to remain undefeated in its spring exhibitions
- The Tide saw goals from Riley Mattingly Parker and Felicia Knox
- Parker netted a goal off a cross from Riley Tanner, while Knox hit the game-winner off a free kick
Mississippi State
- The Bulldogs will also conclude their spring season Friday
- The team has competed against UAB, Jackson State, Arkansas State and Auburn this spring
- MSU suffered a 1-0 loss to the Tigers in its last outing
- Mississippi State finished last season with a 5-8-3 overall record and a 3-6-1 record in SEC play
- Onyi Echegini and Hailey Farrington-Bentil paced the 2021 team as each player recorded nine points during the season
- Farrington-Bentil and Monigo Karnley led the team in goals with three apiece
- Maddy Anderson started all 16 games in goal, recording 65 saves while allowing 19 goals
