
Alabama’s Madi Munguia Called Up to U20 Mexican National Team

Munguia will compete alongside the U20 team in a trio of matches in Albir, Spain
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Alabama's Madi Munguia has received her second call-up in three months as the U20 Mexican National Team is set to compete in three matches between Feb. 28-March 6.
All three friendly matches will take place in Albir, Spain, as the team opens with the Netherlands on Feb. 28. Mexico will also play Spain on March 3 and England on March 6.
Madi Munguia
- Was previously called up for a pair of friendly matches against China (Nov. 29) and England (Dec. 2)
- With Alabama, she started and played in 17 games during the 2025 season
- Named SEC Freshman of the Week (Sept. 8) for holding No. 3 Duke to just one goal
- Tallied 46 saves, including a season-high seven saves twice against Texas and Tennessee
- At the time, limited Duke to a season-low five shots on goal, marking just the second time that a team held the Blue Devils to just one goal in a game
- Shut out five teams during the year, including Southeastern Conference foes Missouri and No. 22 South Carolina
