TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team scored five goals in its final spring game Friday to top the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 5-0, at the Alabama Soccer Stadium.
A brace from Kate Henderson led the Crimson Tide as she netted the second and fourth goals. Gessica Skorka, Riley Tanner and Felicia Knox rounded out the Alabama offense as all three tallied a goal in the game.
Skorka put Alabama on the board first, converting a pass at the top of the box from Kat Rogers. Skorka's shot from the top of the box, flew into the upper left corner of the net to give UA a 1-0 lead heading into half.
Henderson found her first of two goals 10 minutes into the second half, off a pass from Skorka before Riley Tanner made the score 3-0 after dribbling a short corner kick from Kat Rogers into the range to make it 3-0. After a shot from Ashlynn Serepca was blocked, Henderson slid to reach the rebounded ball first and place it into the net. The final goal came off a free kick from Knox, who stepped up to the ball that was located 20-yard out and sent it flying into the upper left corner.
