COLUMBIA, S.C. –– The No. 42 Alabama women's tennis team dropped 4-1 to No. 34 South Carolina on Sunday at the Carolina Tennis Center. The Crimson Tide would capture the doubles point, coming from behind to win the point with victories on courts three and one, respectively.

The Match

After South Carolina (13-8, 8-4 SEC) recorded a doubles win on court two, Alabama (14-9, 4-7 SEC) rallied to take victories on courts three and one, respectively, to capture the first point
Alabama's Anne Marie Hiser and Sydney Orefice went 6-4 against Kendall Couch and Gracie Mulville on court three
Anna Parkhomenko and Petra Sedlackova emerged victorious against 30^th-ranked Megan Davies and Sarah Hamner at the top of the ladder, taking an 8-6 victory in the tiebreaker for the doubles point
The Gamecocks, however, secured singles wins on courts one, six, four and three, respectively, to win the match
Sedlackova battled back to force a third set against 57^th-ranked Ayana Akli on court two for a 3-6, 6-0, 0-3 score when the match was decided
Kasia Pitak topped Gracie Mulville in the opening set to take a 7-6 (5) win in set one. She was trailing 5-2 when the match was clinched.

Alabama returns home to close out the regular season against Georgia on Friday and Tennessee Sunday
