Ola Pitak clinched the victory for the Crimson Tide with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win in the final match of the night
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The No. 45 Alabama women's tennis team upset No. 10 Georgia Friday in an exciting 4-3 decision at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. With both teams tied at 3-3, a late push from Ola Pitak on court two won her the final two games of the night as she took a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 victory for the team win.
Friday's win was Alabama's first over the Bulldogs since 2015 as well as its first victory against a top-10 team since the Tide captured a 5-2 win over No. 6 Georgia in that 2015 match. UA advances to 15-9 on the season and 5-7 in Southeastern Conference play with the victory. The loss was just the second in conference play and fourth defeat this season for the 10th-ranked Bulldogs as UGA dropped to 15-4 overall and 10-2 in SEC action.
The Match
- Anne Marie Hiser and Sydney Orefice captured the first win for Alabama, taking a 6-0 victory on court three against Mai Nirundorn and Guillermina Grant for the advantage in doubles action

- Sedlackova topped the 25th-ranked singles player in the country, Lea Ma, with a 7-6 (1), 6-1 win at the top of the order to even the team score at 2-2
- Hiser would regain the lead for the Tide as she rebounded after a first-set loss to defeat Anna Hertel 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 on court four
- However, a win from the Bulldogs on court five would once again even the match and force the deciding point to be made in a three-set battle on court two
- Pitak opened with a 6-3 victory against Morgan Coppoc, but the Bulldog's No. 2 responded with a 7-5 win in the second set
- Pitak fought her way out of a 4-4 tie in the final set to take the last two games and clinch the win for the Tide
