LEXINGTON, Ky. –– Alabama men's tennis (4-9, 0-1 SEC) fell, 7-0, in its Southeastern Conference opener Friday to No. 9 Kentucky (10-2, 1-0 SEC) at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center. After winning the doubles point, the Wildcats won courts one, three and four in singles, respectively, to clinch the match.

"Kentucky is tough and showed us a confident display of tennis tonight. A lot of good things happened in our matches, however, that the scoreboard won't reveal. We can keep building on those and taking ownership of our performance in practice as we prepare for another weekend of opportunities at home."

Kentucky took an early lead, clinching the doubles point with wins on courts three and two, respectively
Filip Planinsek and German Samofalov were up 4-2 on court one against the 26^th-ranked doubles team of Liam Draxl and Millen Hurrion when the point was clinched
UK would go on to win the match, capturing courts one, three and four, respectively, in singles
Despite the loss, Enzo Aguiard battled through a first-set tiebreak against Hurrion on court two as Joao Ferreira took No. 90 Joshua Lapadat into a third set on court five and Zach Foster took Yasha Zemal into a third set on court six

Alabama returns home on March 11 to host Ole Miss
