
Alabama Men’s Tennis Hosts No. 20 Ole Miss, Travels to No. 25 Auburn in Weekend Matches

The Crimson Tide and Rebels will meet for the second time this season after playing in a non-conference match earlier in the year before Alabama closes the weekend on the road at Auburn
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama men's tennis team (4-9, 0-1 SEC) welcomes No. 20 Ole Miss (10-4, 0-1 SEC) to the Alabama Tennis Stadium Friday at 6 p.m. CT for the Crimson Tide's Southeastern Conference home opener. Following its match on Friday, Alabama hits the road Sunday to face No. 25 Auburn (12-2, 1-0 SEC) at 1 p.m. CT at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

A Heated Series Against the Rebels
- Alabama and Ole Miss will compete for the second time this season after the two teams faced off in a non-conference road match on Jan. 22
- The then-No. 18 Rebels recorded a 4-3 win against the Tide
- The two teams will go head-to-head for the 77th time this weekend with Ole Miss leading the series 40-36
- The last time the two teams played in a conference match was during the 2021 season with Alabama upsetting the No. 9 Rebels 4-3
- Alabama and Ole Miss have met 15 times since the 2013 season with 10 of those matches being decided by a 4-3 score and another four being decided by two points (4-2)

- Nikola Slavic enters the weekend ranked 21st in singles, while Jan Soren Hani is ranked 104th
- In doubles, the pairing of Lukas Engelhardt and Finn Reynolds is ranked second
- Ole Miss is coming off a recent loss, dropping a 6-1 decision to No. 2 Tennessee in its SEC opener
- John Hallquist Lithen and Slavic pace the team in singles as both athletes have eight wins this season while Engelhardt and Reynolds are 10-1 in doubles action
Head-to-Head with Auburn
- Alabama leads the overall series 62-34-1
- Under head coach George Husack, the Tide holds a 7-3 all-time advantage over the Tigers
- Auburn won the last meeting, edging UA 4-3 during the 2021 season

- The Tigers will compete in a pair of SEC matches, traveling to Arkansas on Friday before its Sunday match with the Tide
