Alabama Softball Hosts Alabama State, Travels to Albertville to Face Jacksonville State

Scouting Alabama
- Alabama plays a pair of midweek games, starting Tuesday at home against Alabama State before heading to Albertville, Ala., Wednesday for the inaugural Sand Mountain Showdown against Jacksonville State
- The Tide is coming off a three-game road sweep at South Carolina last weekend, improving to first place in the SEC at 6-3
- Head Coach Patrick Murphy is in his 24th season as head coach at Alabama with a 1,173-324 (.784) record

Last Time Out: at South Carolina
- Alabama swept its three road games last weekend at South Carolina, mounting a sixth-inning comeback to win game one, 7-5, before posting decisive 10-2 and 6-1 wins in games two and three, respectively
- Trailing 5-2 in the top of the sixth, KJ Haney hit a pinch-hit grand slam to push the Tide ahead in the eventual 7-5 win
- Kaylee Tow led the team batting 7-for-11 (.636) over the weekend with three multi-hit performances, driving in five RBIs
- Jenna Johnson hit 6-for-12 with three runs scored and now leads the league with 13 hits in SEC play
- Ashley Prange earned a hit in all three games, pushing her hitting streak to a career-best nine games
- Ally Shipman hit an inside-the-park home run in game two against the Gamecocks, the first for any Alabama player in SEC play and just the third away from Rhoads Stadium
- Montana Fouts went 2-0 last weekend, tying her career high with 16 strikeouts on Sunday
