- No. 2 Alabama welcomes UAB for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, March 2 at 6 p.m. CT at Rhoads Stadium
- The Crimson Tide is coming off a 6-0 weekend, defeating 20th-ranked Louisiana Thursday night in Lafayette before winning all five of its games at the Mardi Gras Mambo in Youngsville, La., including a Sunday rematch with the Ragin' Cajuns
- The two wins over Louisiana improves Alabama's record to 5-0 against ranked foes this season, outscoring them 31-1
- Seven of the Tide's 15 wins have come via run-rule and Alabama has posted eight shutouts
- Montana Fouts was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week after going 3-0 last weekend with 28 strikeouts over 17.0 shutout innings

Montana Fouts Named SEC Pitcher of the Week
- For the second straight week, Alabama's Montana Fouts is the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week, announced Monday by the Southeastern Conference
- Fouts went 3-0 with a save over four appearances last weekend, throwing 17.0 shutout innings while striking out 28
- She opened with a complete-game shutout over Southeastern Louisiana, fanning 13 batters while allowing just five to reach base safely
- The next day, she earned a win in relief against Northwestern State and then a save against Louisiana Tech in back-to-back games
- In the weekend finale, Fouts shut out 20th-ranked Louisiana, striking out seven over five innings in the run-rule victory
- The weekly award is the second this season for Fouts and the 11th of her career, previously winning Freshman of the Week four times in 2019 and Pitcher of the Week five times over her first three years in Tuscaloosa
- Crimson Tide pitchers have now won a combined 47 SEC Pitcher of the Week awards
Pitching and Defense Leading the Way
- Alabama's pitching and defense are among the best in the SEC through three weeks of play
- The Tide leads the league with a 0.90 ERA, allowing the fewest runs (13) and earned runs (12)
- Alabama's 20 walks issues only trails Auburn's 17 for the fewest in the SEC
- Alabama and Kentucky are the only two teams with two pitchers ranked in the top 10 in ERA
- The defense has backed up the pitchers, posting a league-leading .992 fielding percentage with just three errors committed
Career Record Watch
- Kaylee Tow's double on Friday against Nicholls was the 43rd of her career, now one shy of tying ninth-place Dani Woods (2005-08) and three away from eighth-place Christy Kyle (1997-2000)
- Tow is also tied with Jackie McClain (2001-04) at sixth all-time with 139 walks, which puts her 12 away from fifth-place Stephanie VanBrakle (2003-06)
- With two shutouts last weekend, Montana Fouts moved past Jaclyn Traina (2011-14) into sixth all-time with 23 career shutouts, which is just one away from Chrissy Owens (2005-08) and three from Stephanie VanBrakle (2003-06)
Sweet Home Alabama
- Alabama sports a 664-119 (.848) all-time record at home, including a 628-103 (.859) mark under head coach Patrick Murphy and a 609-99 (.860) record at Rhoads Stadium, the Tide's home field since 2000
- Since Rhoads Stadium opened in 2000, Alabama has won at least 25 home games in 18 of its 22 years there
