The Crimson Tide offense tallies a season-best 13 hits, including four from Dallis Goodnight
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball opened a six-game home stand Wednesday night with a 7-0 shutout victory over UAB at Rhoads Stadium.
Alabama's (16-0) offense produced a season-high 13 hits against UAB (7-8), including multi-hit performances from Dallis Goodnight, Ally Shipman, Kaylee Tow and Kat Grill. Goodnight led the team with a 4-for-4 day at the plate, including her first career triple. Shipman drove in three RBIs, marking her team-leading eighth multi-RBI game of the season. Jaala Torrence (3-0) was dominant in the circle, shutting out the Blazers and limiting them to just two hits while striking out five.
From Head Coach Patrick Murphy
"Jaala Torrence was awesome tonight. I thought her velocity and her location was terrific throughout the night except for one little spot late in the game. The defense played well behind her and then we got the hits on offense. We didn't have that one 'big' hit, but those seven runs proved to be enough. I was very pleased with Jaala and our defense tonight.
